Location Covington Support Office - 109 Northpark Blvd., Covington, LA 70433 Job Summary The Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager - Construction will oversee and manage construction projects serving as the owner’s representative for a distribution company, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various departments, contractors, and teams to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate should have commercial or industrial construction management experience and be proficient in problem‑solving, project budgeting, and maintaining strong communication with team members and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects for a distribution company, serving as the owner’s representative for projects handled by general contractors throughout the United States and Canada Coordinate with internal teams (Real Estate, IT, and Marketing) and external contractors Coordinate effectively with contractors to ensure project requirements are met Utilize construction experience to ensure adherence to relevant building codes and safety standards Develop and manage project budgets, including hard and soft costs Create and manage project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time Assemble and manage teams of consultants and contractors, negotiating contracts and maintaining relationships Identify and address potential liabilities and risks Assist in training and developing project team members Engage in business development activities to secure new construction projects and partnerships within local markets Other job‑related duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field Project Manager candidate shall possess 5‑8 years of industry experience, preferably in roles such as Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager Assistant Project Manager shall possess 1‑2 years of experience in the industry Firm knowledge of construction, architecture, or commercial real estate industry Ability to read and interpret construction plans, lease agreements, and building codes Proficiency in MS Office software, especially MS Excel; experience with construction management software is a plus Strong interpersonal skills for interactions with internal and external clients Superior organizational and time management skills Strong problem‑solving abilities while prioritizing safety and security Willingness to travel domestically up to 15% as needed Bilingual, Military, Military Spouses and Veteran applicants are strongly encouraged to apply!
