Job Description

Assistant Project Manager (Mechanical) | Mission Critical Construction | Relocation Assistance

Fort Collins, Colorado | Cheyenne, Wyoming

$85,000–$100,000 (Exceptional Candidates Up to $110,000) + Relocation Assistance + Long-Term Career Progression

Ready to Build the Project That Defines Your Career?

The best construction careers aren't built on ordinary projects.

They're built on landmark projects that challenge you, develop you and open doors for the rest of your career.

We're partnering with one of the United States' leading mechanical contractors to recruit an Assistant Project Manager (Mechanical) to help deliver one of North America's largest mission critical construction projects.

This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a multi-billion-dollar hyperscale data center development, working alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents while developing the skills needed to become a future Project Manager.

If you're ambitious, driven and looking to accelerate your career within mechanical construction, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the successful delivery of a major mechanical construction package from preconstruction through to project completion.

Working alongside both office and field teams, you'll help coordinate procurement, scheduling, subcontractors, project documentation, change orders and cost control while gaining exposure to every phase of the construction lifecycle.

This role offers genuine mentorship, real responsibility and a clearly defined progression path into Project Management.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for ambitious construction professionals who want to build a long-term career within mission critical construction.

Ideally you'll have:

  • 2-5 years' experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar
  • Around 7 years' experience within mechanical construction
  • Experience in HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing, process piping or industrial/commercial mechanical contracting
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related degree (preferred)
  • Previous field experience (highly desirable)

Why Join?

  • Work on one of North America's largest mission critical construction projects
  • Join one of the nation's leading mechanical contractors
  • Learn from experienced Project Managers delivering complex, high-profile projects
  • Clear progression to Project Manager and Senior Project Manager
  • Long-term pipeline of landmark mechanical construction projects
  • Competitive salary of $85,000-$100,000 (up to $110,000 for exceptional candidates)
  • Relocation assistance of $5,000-$7,500
  • Per diem available where applicable
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Long-term career stability with a respected family-owned business

This Role Is Ideal For:

  • Assistant Project Managers
  • Project Engineers
  • Field Engineers
  • Mechanical Coordinators
  • Junior Project Managers

...who are ready to take the next step and gain experience on larger, more technically demanding projects within the rapidly growing mission critical sector.

Why Make the Move?

Mission critical construction is one of the fastest-growing markets in North America, offering exceptional long-term career opportunities for ambitious construction professionals.

This is your opportunity to work on a career-defining project, receive mentorship from industry leaders and build the experience that will accelerate your progression into Project Management and beyond.
