Enterprise Charter School is seeking an Assistant School Leader. The ideal candidate needs to be able to set high expectations, provide continuous feedback to their staff, create a culture of achievement, invest in the development of their staff and find effective solutions to problems that arise. The leader's actions must always be aligned with our schools mission and possess a genuine love and concern for the success of their teachers and students. A Bachelors Degree is required: Master's degree with emphasis on educational leadership and curriculum development and supervision is preferred.

SCHOOL-WIDE COMPETENCIES:

  • Articulates and applies historical context of racism and understands the current reality of students and communities of color in order to support racial equity
  • Accountable for students' success and believes Enterprise's students must receive the highest quality education possible in order to close the achievement gap
  • Relentless commitment to mission of educating Enterprise's students
  • Actively demonstrates a commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Serves as an advocate for racial equity with the school's colleagues, parents, students, community, and external stakeholders to promote equity in education and closure of the achievement gap
  • Demonstrates a racial equity mindset through awareness of biases and leads with a racial equity lens

Essential Functions

  • Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Managing a cohort of the school's teachers (including, for example, a group of literacy teachers or a group of math teachers). Training teachers on how to effectively internalize lessons, how to adjust those lessons to meet the needs of their students, and to plan strategic interventions to maximize student mastery and growth.
  • Training teachers on how to administer assessments, how to analyze the results of those assessment, and to build action plans to maximize student mastery and growth.
  • Providing high-quality instructional coaching by observing classrooms, identifying key levers to help teachers improve, and then providing the support necessary to improve each teacher's practice, including the use of real-time coaching.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to effectively lead teams to completed complex projects over time
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to take initiative to create new systems where necessary and to work independently
  • A commitment to doing whatever it takes to ensure the success of Enterprise Charter School
  • Proficiency in working with computers, commonly used software (like Google Documents) and Excel.

Enterprise Charter School offers a competitive salary, health benefits and is a member of the NYS Teacher Retirement System. Position starts at $60,000 higher rate based on experience.
