Assistant Superintendent – Commercial & Industrial Projects

Position Summary:
 The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful execution of construction projects. This role involves coordinating field operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and assisting with scheduling and subcontractor management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing on-site construction activities from pre-construction through closeout
  • Monitor and enforce job site safety protocols and company safety culture
  • Support the Superintendent in maintaining the project schedule and coordinating subcontractors
  • Conduct daily site walks, safety audits, and participate in safety meetings
  • Help review project documents (e.g., drawings, RFIs, submittals) for constructability
  • Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports and as-builts
  • Coordinate with inspectors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and progress
  • Participate in foreman meetings, pre-task planning, and quality control checks
  • Must be knowledgeable working with hand tools and equipment
Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, safety standards, and scheduling
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Excellent communication and team coordination skills
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred, OSHA 10 Required
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving on the fly, works efficiently alone and wants to grow into a leadership position in construction management.
