The successful candidate will be responsible for executing independent and objective assurance and consulting activities to assess the effectiveness of the Bank's governance, risk management, and control processes. This role involves the end-to-end audit process of BSA/AML projects and audits, including planning, fieldwork testing, reporting, and issue validation. The AVP will also be expected to maintain compliance with audit methodology, build relationships within the organization, and operate with an innovative and flexible mindset. Professional skepticism, personal accountability, and the ability to lead discussions with business stakeholders are essential. Candidates for this role at the company should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for an M.B.A., J.D., or equivalent postgraduate degree. A minimum of 7 years' of internal or external audit or risk management experience, with at least 5 years' in financial crimes compliance audit, is required. CAMS certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial crimes risk, including BSA/AML, KYC, and sanctions, and experience working with financial industry regulators. Proficiency in the internal audit process, technology, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary.
