We are growing so fast that all our available roles are not yet posted, so let us know if you are interested and we will follow-up.Assistant Vice President – Training & Workforce DevelopmentVirginia Transformer CorporationPosition PurposeThe Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Training & Workforce Development will establish and lead Virginia Transformer Corporation’s workforce skill development strategy through the design, implementation including facility and staffing , skills-based vocational training programs; and long-term managing and scheduling thetrainees with the various plants , This role will serve as executive owner of VTC’s Build-A-Transformer (BAT) Workforce Development Model, ensuring the company develops production-ready employees capable of safely, efficiently, and consistently performing within VTC manufacturing environments.The position is designed to function as a strategic operational leadership role responsible for workforce scalability, production readiness, and long-term skilled labor pipeline sustainability across all VTC facilities.Guiding PhilosophyVirginia Transformer believes workforce capability is built through hands-on skill mastery, mentorship, and real manufacturing experience. Training at VTC prioritizes applied learning, craftsmanship, and production immersion while leveraging best-in-class vocational education practices and internal subject matter expertise.Primary ObjectivesThe AVP will:• Establish BAT/EPI3 three (3) yr proficiency in one (1) year as VTC’s standardized enterprise workforce development platform • Reduce workforce time-to-competency through structured certification pathways • Develop sustainable skilled labor pipelines supporting expansion and growth • knowledge transfer from experienced manufacturing professionals • Ensure workforce readiness supports greenfield startups, brownfield expansions, and production ramp initiatives • Build governance systems ensuring long-term sustainability of workforce training programsKey ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Workforce Development StrategyDevelop and execute VTC’s long-term workforce capability roadmap aligned with production growth and facility expansion.Design scalable vocational training systems supporting multi-site operations.Translate operational growth plans into workforce readiness and training deployment strategies.Build-A-Transformer (BAT) Program LeadershipServe as executive owner and strategic leader of the BAT training model.Oversee curriculum development, training delivery standards, and competency certification systems.Implement structured onboarding, hands-on training, and Employee Performance Index (EPI) skill progression programs.Establish workforce training frameworks supporting production ramp and facility startup readiness.Vocational Education & Subject Matter IntegrationCombine external vocational education best practices with VTC internal manufacturing expertise.Develop knowledge capture systems preserving institutional craftsmanship.Establish instructor certification and internal training leadership pipelines.Workforce Pipeline DevelopmentDevelop strategic partnerships with technical colleges, vocational institutions, apprenticeship programs, and workforce development agencies.Establish long-term skilled trades workforce pipelines supporting VTC growth.Operational Integration & GovernanceAlign training programs with hiring plans, production schedules, and expansion timelines.Establish enterprise training governance, certification compliance standards, and performance tracking systems.Develop workforce capability metrics tied directly to productivity, safety, quality, and retention outcomes.Required Experience & QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Workforce Development, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.Professional ExperienceCandidates must demonstrate substantial experience in both:Vocational / Workforce Development LeadershipMinimum 7+ years leading vocational education, technical training, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs.Experience designing competency-based certification or structured training systems.Experience administering training governance, curriculum design, or workforce education partnerships.Manufacturing / Industrial LeadershipMinimum 5+ years experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or skilled trades environments.Prior leadership role within a manufacturing plant or production environment required.Demonstrated understanding of production workflows, safety systems, and workforce scaling.Leadership Competencies• Execution-driven leadership with strong bias for action • Practical vocational training expertise • Manufacturing operational credibility • Workforce pipeline development • Cross-functional leadership and change management • Continuous improvement and performance measurementReporting StructureReports To: Executive Leadership (TBD)Direct oversight of enterprise workforce development and training organization including BAT leadership, training instructors, and workforce development partnerships.Success Measures (First 24 Months)• Enterprise BAT implementation across VTC facilities • Measurable reduction in workforce time-to-competency • Workforce certification standards established and implemented • Skilled labor pipeline partnerships operational • Workforce readiness standards integrated into expansion planning
