The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Womens Golf Coach. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and consideration of relevant salary market data. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 205 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Assistant Womens Golf Coach is responsible for providing administrative, instructional and coaching assistance to the Head Coach with the purpose of building a successful, competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes. This position requires frequent travel, work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays, a valid U.S. driving license, and the ability to meet the University of Iowa Driving Program standards.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or international equivalent);
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience as a NCAA DI Golf Coach and/or combination of DI and Professional Golf Experience with demonstrated knowledge of the techniques and strategies of the sport of golf;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through public speaking engagements, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques;
  • Effective organizational, administrative and public relations skills;
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Ability to utilize basic office productivity software, such as Microsoft Office
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain
    University of Iowa Driving Policy standards

Desired qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing a womens golf program highly desired;
  • Golf playing experience at the NCAA Division I level;
  • Domestic and international recruiting experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge in golf-related sports journalism and knowledge and experience with social media;
  • Experience working with video analysis systems.
  • Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes, recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.
