The Job
As an Associate Accountant at World Vision Inc., you will be responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles, policies, and procedures. You will work closely with the finance team to process financial transactions, maintain accounting records, and assist with financial reporting. This role requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity. Responsibilities
Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life; actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Process intercompany transactions, perform account reconciliations, assist with month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, and support the preparation of financial reports.
Help maintain the general ledger, verify and analyze accounting data, and identify and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with audit preparations, document financial transactions, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory responsibilities.
Provide input for financial statements and prepare, run and review accounting reports.
Reconcile less complex subsidiary ledger accounts and checking accounts.
May prepare internal accounting reports for Finance department management.
Develop a role appropriate understanding of the international World Vision partnership and use this context to inform communications, actions, decisions, and solutions.
Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, knowledge of basic internal control principles, and familiarity with financial reporting procedures.
Proficiency in accounting software and systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while demonstrating strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience in accounting (eight years). Some related experience preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience with data entry, record keeping, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Understanding of basic bookkeeping principles, accounting cycles, and general ledger functions.
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including account reconciliations.
Ability to work in computerized accounting environments and manage financial systems efficiently.
Experience with financial data analysis; familiarity with nonprofit accounting is a plus.
