Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with a passion for litigation and a keen interest in the medical malpractice defense field. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload from start to finish, collaborating with partners on case strategy, and working closely with expert witnesses. This role requires excellent writing and advocacy skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of billable hours.
Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload of medical malpractice defense cases, litigation matters.
Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
Collaborate closely with partners and other team members to develop and implement case strategy.
Consistently meet a billable hour requirement of 1950 hours per year/162.5 per month.
Cover depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
Conduct telephone calls with expert witnesses, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Provide comprehensive legal assistance and advice to clients.
Stay updated on recent changes in laws and regulations related to medical malpractice defense.
Work in a hybrid model, with a combination of remote and in-office work.
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, specifically in medical malpractice defense.
Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
Demonstrated experience in drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal documents.
Exceptional writing and advocacy skills.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a team on case strategy.
Experience in covering depositions and conducting telephone calls with expert witnesses.
Ability to consistently meet a high billable hour requirement.
Familiarity with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
