Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our client's team with experience in Personal Injury or Medical Malpractice on either the plaintiff or defense side. An Associate Attorney manages cases from start to finish, handling all aspects of litigation like client intake, discovery (drafting documents, depositions, motions), legal research, negotiating settlements, preparing for and attending hearings/trials, and interacting with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, often specializing in plaintiff representation for wrongful death, accident, or malpractice claims.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage caseloads from intake to resolution, handling A-Z case management.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and demands.
  • Conduct legal research on tort law, medical standards of care, and evidence; review medical records and transcripts; support depositions.
  • Provide legal advice, guide clients through the process, update case files, and communicate with all parties.
  • Attend and prepare for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Investigate claims, gather evidence, and interview witnesses.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies or opposing counsel.
  • Work with paralegals, legal assistants, and expert witnesses.


Typical Requirements & Skills

  • JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in the practicing state.
  • 1-3+ years in litigation, personal injury, or medical malpractice (often plaintiff-focused).
  • Strong legal writing & oral advocacy, detail-oriented, excellent communication, self-starter, familiar with case management software, basic understanding of medical terminology.
