Job Description An Associate in the Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking Group in the New York office will work on a variety of active engagements, business development assignments, and growth initiatives. The group offers a unique opportunity for Associates to work on a variety of projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and sectors within the real estate industry. The Associate will have the following tasks: Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information; Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A and capital raising transactions; Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations; Value real estate companies, businesses, and assets; Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements; Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors. Basic Qualifications An undergraduate degree, including an exemplary academic record, from an accredited institution; Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling and analytical abilities; Nuanced understanding of real estate valuation theory, methodologies and applications; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience interacting with clients and/or potential investors; An independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed; Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask; A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
