Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Transportation Manager/Chief, Office of Sustainability, the Associate Construction Analyst (ACA) is responsible for performing a variety of analytical, budget and project support tasks in connection with major and less complex capital outlay projects, generally the development and installation of Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) charging infrastructure projects at state facilities, utilizing Excel, PeopleSoft and the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).


This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.
The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests.
The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.

The DGS Office of Sustainability develops and manages energy related projects at state facilities in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet the State of Californias climate goals (energy savings retrofits, clean renewables, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure).


This job in the Clean Transportation Unit of the Office of Sustainability entails assisting with the oversight and management of public works projects for the installation of zero emission vehicle (ZEV) charging infrastructure at state facilities.


Our ideal candidate has the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people at various levels of responsibility within and outside of state government.
It is expected that the candidate will consistently exercise good judgment and have a strong knowledge of and background with Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE), along with experience tracking and managing large budgets, preparing purchase orders and tracking project invoices, reviewing and editing project documents, construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and has an overall knowledge of the State of California's contracting and public works processes, and is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Adobe Pro.

Candidates chosen for interviews will be required to take a timed exam to demonstrate their skills in Excel.
