Associate Diagnostic Medical & Health Physicist Apply
Join a team that actually likes working together. Olympic Health Physics isn’t a giant corporate machine—and we like it that way. We’re a tight-knit team of physicists who care deeply about doing great work, solving real problems, and building strong relationships with the people we support. If you’re the kind of physicist who wants autonomy, variety, and a chance to grow—not just crank out reports—this might be your place. What You’ll Actually Do This isn’t a sit-at-a-desk-all-day role. You’ll be out in the real world, working with clinical teams, solving meaningful physics problems, and supporting facilities that rely on your expertise. In this role, you will: Independently perform physics evaluations for imaging systems, including x-ray (radiographic, fluoroscopic, industrial x-ray, dental) and ultrasound equipment Assist in physics evaluations of CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and PET equipment Independently complete radiation shielding designs and associated reports Review and report occupational dosimetry results for client facilities Provide radiation safety consulting and oversight for healthcare and imaging facilities Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with partner sites, emphasizing responsiveness, reliability, and technical excellence Contribute to process improvement, training, and technology upgrades across service locations Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain and expand expertise What You Bring We’re looking for someone who knows their craft and communicates well with others. Technical knowledge matters—but so does the ability to build trust with the people you support. Qualifications include: Master’s degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Health Physics, Radiation Science, Imaging Science, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related field preferred Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Health Physics, Engineering Physics, Radiation Science, Imaging Science, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related field will be considered for strong candidates , particularly those interested in pursuing graduate education and continued professional development Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset Willingness to travel regionally to client sites (approximately 25%) Current and valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Successful candidates typically: Enjoy solving real-world problems Work well independently while staying connected to a team Take pride in doing meaningful work that supports patient and staff safety Stay curious and committed to continuous improvement How We Support Growth We’re willing to invest time and energy into training the right person. Not everyone walks in knowing everything, and we believe great physicists are built over time. That said, we’re looking for self-starters—people who take ownership of their learning and put in the effort to grow. If you’re committed, curious, and willing to work hard, we’ll meet you with the same level of commitment. We’re not interested in checking boxes or carrying someone who isn’t engaged. But if you show up ready to learn, we will support you every step of the way. Why People Stay Here We’re not trying to be the biggest physics group. We’re trying to be the best team to work with. Here’s what makes Olympic Health Physics different. You won’t be lost in a large organization. Our physicists work closely together, share knowledge freely, and support one another when challenges arise. Real Flexibility We trust professionals to manage their time responsibly. You’ll have the autonomy to organize your schedule while meeting client needs. Real Talk About Travel This role includes regional travel, and some weeks require being away from home for several days at a time. When travel weeks are heavy, we flex schedules to balance it out and support time off when possible. Work That Doesn’t Get Boring From hospitals to outpatient clinics, our projects span CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, x-ray, ultrasound, and radiation safety. The variety keeps the work interesting and engaging. Meaningful Impact Our work directly supports safe, high-quality imaging across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The facilities we serve rely on our expertise to protect patients and staff. Pacific Northwest Lifestyle Based in one of the most beautiful regions in the country, you’ll have access to mountains, coastline, forests, and vibrant cities—all within reach. A Relationship-Driven Mission We view ourselves as partners to our clients. Our physicists are trusted advisors who help teams operate safely, efficiently, and confidently. What This Job Feels Like Some days you're out at hospitals or clinics, working hands‑on with imaging systems and helping teams solve problems in real time. Other days you're back with the team—working through challenges together, digging into technical questions, and figuring out the best path forward. The work shifts between independent focus and team collaboration, and both matter. 401(k) with company matching Paid time off Parental leave Job Type: Full-time Travel Requirement: Approximately 25% regional travel preferred We’re not hiring to plug a short-term hole. We value long‑term commitment and invest in people who want to grow alongside the company.
