The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director and will focus on advancement support and contributions management as part of the general coordination for the daily operations of the organization. Key functions include overseeing donor data management, gift processing, contributions reporting, and fundraising events coordination and communication. This position will reflect the mission, benevolence and professionalism of Rise & Shine in all relationships with board members, donors and our partners both in the U.S. and in Ghana. Rise & Shine works with and is located at Our Lady of Grace parish in Edina. This position is ideal for someone with a heart for service, effective team collaboration and organizational expertise. Rise & Shine provides operating support and scholarships for Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG) and partner parish and communities in Mamponteng, Ghana. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Rise & Shine is supported by individuals, parishes, and partners who believe in the impact of investing in education in Africa . Since its beginning as a ministry of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Edina, MN in the early 2000s, the mission has supported the construction of the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG) campus which now offers a college-preparatory curriculum to students in grades 10-12. This remarkable school is opening doors for talented young people whose futures are transformed through access to education, leadership development and opportunity. Strong verbal and written communication skills. High performance with Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Word, and Google Docs. Experience with database systems is ideal, preferably Bloomerang. Professionalism in day-to-day work as a representative of Rise & Shine. Bachelor’s degree. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Development Manage and maintain the donor database to ensure accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and accessibility of information. Bloomerang is the CRM for Rise and Shine. Process contributions in accordance with gift acceptance policies, IRS guidelines, and nonprofit best practices to maintain accurate, audit‑ready records. Prepare gift acknowledgements ensuring that every donor receives personal and meaningful appreciation. Prepare reports, analytics and donor lists for board meetings and event planning. Fundraising Events Support Preparation of print and electronic materials. Manage database invitations, registration and guest list coordination. Venue & vendor support. Board Support Scheduling physical and virtual meeting space. Preparation of agenda packets for committee meetings and board meetings. Prepare board notes and minutes. Communications Manage website updates. Management of quarterly e‑newsletter through the database. Coordinate communication with partner organizations and individuals. Ghana Partnership Travel Experiences Support for coordination of travel to Ghana. Support for OLAG students participating as Notre Dame Summer Scholars. Support for OLAG graduates studying at U.S. colleges and universities.
