Associate Faculty Pool, Art Department (PT Faculty)
A part-time associate faculty position in the Art Department, located in Lynnwood, Washington. The role is an ongoing part-time position, with faculty building a curriculum and teaching courses in studio and online formats.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned art classes to a diverse student body in studio, online, or hybrid settings.
Develop curriculum, instructional materials, and online course management.
Assess student learning outcomes, assign grades, and maintain required records.
Advise and consult with students to support their academic success.
Teach in areas of specialization such as drawing, painting, and online art survey courses.
Collaborate with Visual Arts co-department chairs on program development and maintenance.
Participate in college mission activities, governance, professional development, and in-service training.
Be available for early-morning or late-afternoon/evening classes, including online instruction.
Required Qualifications
Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art, Master of Art Education, or equivalent.
Demonstrated artistic accomplishment in one or more media.
Excellent verbal, listening, problem-solving, critical thinking, and writing skills.
Desired Qualifications
Effective collaboration with students and staff of diverse backgrounds.
Competence or willingness to teach courses with multicultural perspectives.
Community-college teaching experience.
Evidence of excellence in teaching with a focus on student learning.
Use of innovative teaching methods, including new technologies and project-based instruction.
Willingness to incorporate critical thinking, group process, communication, and quantitative reasoning into curricula.
Experience with online course management systems such as Canvas.

Physical Work Environment
Work is typically performed in classroom and office settings, requiring standing and/or sitting for extended periods. Instructors must use a computer, speak clearly, and fully comprehend English.
Compensation
Salary is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and varies by contract load and mode. A standard five-credit lecture class equals approximately $6,387.94. Special assignments are $45 per hour; meeting stipends start at $55 for meetings 30 minutes to 2 hours.
