Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I within the Settlement and Taxpayer Services Bureau, the Settlement Analyst with a high level of independence is responsible for performing all necessary support functions for the Settlement Section. This entails performing in a professional manner a variety of support staff functions that are necessary to complete the Settlement Process, including analyzing and processing accepted or removed caseload, analyzing and processing approved caseload, and conducting complex research, analysis, and formulation of the Settlement Section's administrative program policies and procedures. Works closely and provides advice and data to the Attorney IV lead and other legal and audit staff within the Settlement Section. Identifies and proposes recommendations on issues affecting the Settlement Program. Designs, creates, maintains, or utilizes a variety of databases and systems for analyzing settlement cases; and engages and corresponds with various levels of staff, taxpayers, feepayers, or representatives to provide accurate information and process settlement cases. The incumbent may also serve in a liaison capacity between taxpayers, various levels of management at the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA), and the Office of the Attorney General.
