Associate Attorney (2-6 years)

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases, representing our public entity clients in both state and federal court. The successful candidate will have a strong background in litigation, exceptional legal research and writing skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of litigation experience.

The position is flexible as to remote/hybrid. Some of our attorneys are in the office every day while others are entirely remote. We can tailor the arrangement to the candidate. However, applicants must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Bay Area in order to attend in-person proceedings and hearings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage busy case load with minimal supervision
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Communicate and collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Maintain positive client relationships regarding case assessment, investigation, discovery and litigation developments

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Juris Doctor
  • Admitted to the California Bar
  • 4-8 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • $130,000 - $165,000 base salary
