Job Summary Associate Manager – SEC Reporting

Responsibilities Document SEC reporting duties for senior manager and contribute to the wider accounting team.
Assist in the preparation, review, and filing of SEC documents (10‑Q, 10‑K, and others) ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and XBRL tagging requirements.
Coordinate the review and approval of SEC filings with senior management, external auditors, legal counsel, the Disclosure Committee, and the Audit Committee.
Provide timely and accurate economic data, profit information, and insights for the quarterly Shareholder Letter.
Research accounting literature, produce technical memoranda, and advise on implementation of recent GAAP pronouncements.
Offer technical accounting guidance for projects such as acquisitions, goodwill impairment analysis, segment reporting, and equity changes.
Ensure compliance with SOX, collaborate with internal and external auditors on SOX testing, and resolve identified issues.
Lead projects related to SOX and SEC reporting, including control flowcharts and automation initiatives.
Support audit documentation, manage auditor requests, and resolve audit inquiries efficiently.
Act as a key business partner with Accounting, FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, and Tax teams.
Oversee and mentor accounting specialists, setting goals, reviewing work, and providing guidance.
Review periodic accounting entries and reconciliations, including capitalized software, inventory, and related items.
Perform ad‑hoc tasks and evaluation projects as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
CPA designation with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of SEC filings for a publicly‑traded company, preferably from audit or operating experience.
Experience with public accounting firm exposure, especially in large four firms.
Proficiency in GAAP research techniques and technical accounting.
Hands‑on experience with Workiva SEC submission software (Wdesk).
Solid understanding of SOX requirements and auditor interactions.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter who can thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and mentor team members.

Salary range: $84,000 – $142,000 per year (subject to market and experience).
