Job Description and Duties

This position is located in the city of Sacramento.

The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) Human Resources Section is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join our Classification and Hiring team. In this position, the incumbent will assist managers and supervisors with exploring various hiring methods to meet the Departments needs. In addition, the incumbent will perform tasks such as preparation/review of job advertisements, duty statements and organizational charts. The incumbent will work with the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) hiring system, Examination, Certification online system (ECOS) by entering Job Controls/posting advertisements and reviewing the minimum qualifications. Additional duties may include determining list eligibility/reachability for the candidates applying to DOR vacancies. The incumbent will study, analyze and make recommendations to management on varied and complex classification and pay issues such as, reclassifications, out of class request, training and development assignments and HAM approvals. This individual will work with a team and at times individually on recruitment and special projects, classification projects that require approval from the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) and other control agencies. The incumbent will also work on the Conflict Of Interest (COI) process, collect form 700 and ensure the department is within compliance per the Fair Political Practice Commission (FPPC) regulations.

We may consider a Staff Services Analyst (SSA) for recruitment purposes depending on the candidate pool received.
