Overview The Department of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics at Cleveland Clinic is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine Clinician Educator to serve as Associate Program Director (APD) in the Osteopathically Recognized Internal Medicine Residency Program at South Pointe Hospital. The successful candidate will shape the educational and clinical experiences of residents, fostering a holistic approach to patient care and maintaining high standards of medical education. The APD will coordinate ambulatory experiences and resident scheduling to ensure efficient workflows and quality care; integrate osteopathic principles and manipulative treatment into training and curriculum; continuously evaluate and enhance the ambulatory curriculum in alignment with accreditation standards; lead resident education, mentorship, and wellness initiatives; and support program administration, including accreditation, recruitment, evaluation, and strategic planning. Practicing as part of the academic Internal Medicine site at South Pointe, the role includes rotation into inpatient teaching service, outpatient precepting, and private patient clinics in Primary Care. Additional opportunities exist for teaching medical students and Advanced Practice Practitioner students. Academic appointments within the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine are available. Pay range – Minimum salary: $251,000; Maximum salary: $359,719. The salary range reflects anticipated compensation for new physicians hired into full-time positions and is aligned with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE. This range excludes the value of the comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities Coordinate ambulatory experiences and resident scheduling; integrate osteopathic principles into training; evaluate and enhance ambulatory curriculum in line with accreditation standards. Lead resident education, mentorship, wellness initiatives, and support program administration, including accreditation, recruitment, evaluation, and strategic planning. Rotate clinically on inpatient teaching service; provide outpatient precepting and private primary care clinics. Provide opportunities to teach medical students and Advanced Practice Practitioner students; pursue academic appointments as available. Qualifications Board-certified in Internal Medicine; Clinician Educator with interest in residency leadership. Experience in academic Internal Medicine and osteopathic principles preferred. Ability to work across accreditation, recruitment, evaluation, and strategic planning functions.
