Job Description

About Our Hospital

Town Animal Hospital of Manhasset is a new family owned and operated (not corporate!) small animal hospital on Long Island (Nassau County). We cater to an upscale clientele and are focused on providing a very high level of customer care. Our focus is on quality of care for each patient rather than maximizing the volume of patient visits. The hospital has experienced superb growth since opening in September 2025. Review our website at to learn more about us.

Job Overview

We are looking for an Associate Veterinarian to work a regular 1-2 days/week. This position could lead to a full-time role as the practice continues to expand, but is not a requirement. It will allow you to grow with us and be part of something new and exciting, in one of Long Island’s most beautiful communities.

As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to spend quality time with clients and patients, develop deep relationships with owners and provide a high level of care. You will collaborate with and learn from the senior medical director to provide the best outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in small animals
  • Prescribe medications, recommend treatment plans, and perform surgeries and dental procedures as needed
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and preventative care
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Adhere to all veterinary medical standards, legal regulations, and hospital protocols

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Licensed to practice in the state of New York
  • Strong clinical skills and diagnostic abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
