Are you passionate about supporting athletes in achieving their best while ensuring their safety? We are looking for a dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team, working under the direction of a physician to provide expert care in injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation. You will deliver high-quality care to student-athletes, manage emergency situations, and help them return to the field safely and efficiently. This role involves providing outreach athletic training services to high school and junior high athletics in the Corning area.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality care for student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, emergency care, and rehabilitation.
- Assess sports-related injuries and illnesses, providing initial care and recommending appropriate next steps.
- Monitor athletic events, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and recommend improvements for protective equipment and training practices.
- Develop and implement training and conditioning programs for athletes in collaboration with coaches.
- Document injuries, treatments, and athlete information in Presagia EMR software promptly and thoroughly, ensuring all data is accurate and complete.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, school officials, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers regarding injuries, treatments, and return-to-play protocols.
- Provide return-to-play guidance, working closely with the Medical Director and physicians to ensure athlete safety.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and education to stay current with best practices and medical advancements.
- Education: Graduate of a CAATE-accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Athletic Training or related field (required).
- Certifications:
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing
- Current licensure in New York State (required); dual licensure in NY and Pennsylvania (preferred)
- Current BLS Certification
- Experience: Prefer candidates with experience working with adolescent athletes in school settings.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential. Must be detail-oriented and capable of documenting and managing multiple priorities effectively.
