This role is crucial in managing injury prevention, emergency care, rehabilitation, and athlete performance. You'll work with a vibrant community of sports enthusiasts, covering practices, games, and events at local high schools, colleges, and semi-professional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid, on-site injury evaluation, and medical referrals for athletes.
  • Develop rehabilitation and prevention programs to promote athlete recovery and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, physicians, and families regarding injury status and return-to-play decisions.
  • Assist in organizing physicals and pre/post-event medical evaluations.
  • Maintain detailed injury logs and medical records.
  • Travel with teams to away games, including overnight stays when required.
  • Ensure safety and proper use of athletic equipment and modalities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
  • Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers required.
  • New York State Certification for Athletic Trainers.
  • CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of athletic training experience in a sports environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations.
