Position Summary:
Join a dynamic team dedicated to sports training and healthcare in the picturesque Finger Lakes Region! As an Athletic Trainer, you will work under the supervision of a physician to apply principles and methods for managing athletic injuries. This includes preconditioning, conditioning, and reconditioning athletes using preventative and supportive devices. You will instruct athletes, coaches, parents, and medical personnel on injury care and prevention while providing coverage at sporting events and within school systems, physician clinics, or hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and treat athletic injuries, with a focus on preconditioning, conditioning, and reconditioning.
- Provide preventative and supportive instruction to athletes, coaches, and medical personnel.
- Offer event coverage at sporting events, following Health System guidelines and schedules.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in schools, clinics, and hospitals to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine or a related field (required)
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training (preferred)
- Certifications:
- NYS Certified Athletic Trainer
- NATABOC Certification
- BLS Certification (must be obtained during clinical orientation)
- Work Experience:
- Minimum: 21 years of age (per NYS regulations)
- Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in athletic training, ideally within a high school or physician practice setting
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred)
