Associate Attorney - Real Estate


Cassin & Cassin LLP is a prominent law firm that has over three decades of experience providing the highest quality of service to our clients. The Firm specializes in commercial real estate transactions, representing lending institutions, investment funds, and small to medium-size companies in all aspects of real estate including financing, buying, selling, leasing and development.


We are currently seeking a full-time Associate to be based in our Purchase, NY office. This Associate will work in our Agency Lending and Affordable Housing Practice Group, which is responsible for the origination and servicing of multifamily loans securitized with Fannie and Freddie Mac lending platforms. Job responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting other attorneys and acting as lender’s counsel in all aspects of pre-closing and closings, including due diligence and correspondence with title companies, surveyors, borrower’s counsel, and clients for properties throughout the United States;
  • Loan Document negotiation;
  • Reviewing title commitments and underlying title exception documents and surveys;
  • Coordinating with title company and surveyor to finalize for closing;
  • Reviewing affordable housing documents, commercial leases and preparing lease abstracts; and
  • Performing other tasks and duties as assigned in all phases of the real estate life cycle.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. from an accredited law school;
  • Minimum 0-2 Years of experience in Real Estate;
  • Knowledge or interest in affordable housing and/or Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily, affordable housing, and other areas of public finance and community development preferred, but not required;
  • Experience working with a Document Management system;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Desire to be trained and mentored in a fast-paced, team environment; and
  • Ability to interact effectively with attorneys and colleagues.
