Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Audio Visual (AV) Technician to support the design, installation, maintenance, and coordination of AV systems across a dynamic and expansive airport campus. This position plays a critical role in supporting AV technology for monthly formal board meetings, as well as ensuring functionality across numerous buildings, meeting rooms, and operational spaces.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Crestron, Polycom, Neat and Extron control systems, have strong project coordination skills, and be comfortable collaborating with external vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain high-performance, reliable AV experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot AV systems, including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems (Crestron Polycom, Neat, and Extron).
Provide real-time AV support for monthly board meetings and other high-visibility meetings, ensuring seamless operation of live streams, presentations, microphones, and recording systems.
Coordinate AV-related work across various buildings on the airport campus, including conference rooms, training rooms, and public spaces.
Manage relationships with AV vendors, create SOWs, coordinate site visits, installations, and maintenance tasks.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
Make system and equipment recommendations to improve AV performance and user experience.
Maintain accurate documentation of AV systems, standards, configurations, and project plans.
Collaborate with ITS, Energy, Transportation, and Maintenance (ETAM), and operational teams to support integrated technology deployments.
Stay up to date on AV technology trends, certifications, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 5 years of experience in an AV technician or similar role.
Proficient with Crestron, Polycom or Neat systems (programming knowledge a plus).
Strong project coordination and vendor management skills.
Experience supporting formal meetings or executive boardrooms, including hybrid/remote capabilities.
Familiarity with a wide range of AV technologies, including video conferencing systems (e.g., Teams, Zoom, etc.), DSPs, matrix switchers, and structured cabling.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across a large, multi-building campus.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work in varied physical environments.
Preferred Certifications (one or more of the following):
AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
Crestron DMC-E / Crestron Certified Programmer / Crestron Masters
Polycom Certified Videoconferencing Engineer (PCVE)
Extron Certifications
Biamp or QSC Certification
Networking+ or CCNA (a plus for networked AV systems)
