Description of Job
Assistant Teachers/Early Child Teacher (ECTs) support the Supervising Teacher in carrying out the entire classroom program by helping with the guidance of the childrens development, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and guiding childrens behavior in a positive manner.
- Assist in the planning and organizing of classroom activities as assigned by the Supervising Teacher.
- Participate in the classroom teaching team by working cooperatively with all team members and communicating with all team members.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate records as assigned by the Supervising Teacher.
- Work with parents under the direction of the Supervising Teacher.
- Acts as Supervising Teacher in the absence of the Supervising Teacher.
- Available to work any hours M-F 8am-5pm-can work up to 40 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be ECT Qualified or have Level 2 PDIS Certificate.
- Must be Assistant Early Childhood Teacher Certified. (Review qualifications on the Colorado Department of Human Services website.)

*Years of experience will be expressed in terms of full-time equivalent service with full-time workload equal to one (1) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) year. No more than 1.00 FTE year may be credited in any twelve (12) month period. Positions working 40 hours or less per week will be pro-rated (30 hrs/wk=0.75 FTE=9 mos credit; 20 hrs/wk=0.5 FTE=6 mos credit; 10 hrs/wk=0.25 FTE=3 mos credit.) *
