About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in La Quinta, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in La Quinta, CA
• Schedule: 2 sessions for 1 hr 15 min
• Pay rate is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced in working with children with autism or developmental differences.
• Knowledgeable in evidence-based reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or structured literacy approaches).
• Skilled in emotional regulation support, redirection, and behavior management.
• Patient, consistent, and calm under pressure; capable of modeling positive coping strategies.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
• Creative and flexible in adapting lessons around a student’s interests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct an academic assessment to establish baseline skills and inform goal setting.
• Provide direct instruction in:
• Foundational literacy (phonemic awareness, vocabulary, sight words, reading comprehension).
• Early math concepts (number sense, addition/subtraction, problem-solving).
• Writing and language skills (organization, conventions, expressive writing).
• Support emotional regulation and model calm, patient behavior during challenging moments.
• Utilize positive reinforcement and incorporate student interests (e.g., weather, insects) into lessons.
• Coordinate with caregivers and, if applicable, therapy teams to align with IEP goals.
• Maintain consistent documentation of progress and adjust instruction as needed.
