Under general direction, responsible for all phases of large-scale assigned process or manufacturing improvement projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Implements process improvements to meet quality standards, designs and conducts feasibility studies, and solves problems. Creates necessary documentation and aids in communication to personnel. May serve as a resource to other engineers and coordinate all work within the scope of assigned projects.

What We Seek
- Lead or assist in two or more simultaneous projects.
- Own responsibility for technical project leadership as directed.
- Gain new knowledge of automation technology and solutions.
- In conjunction with senior staff, use engineering knowledge to architect automation solutions.
- Spearhead technology research to deliver state-of-the-art processes and design concepts.
- Work across multiple facilities with separate stakeholder teams and processes.
- Work with project managers to set and manage goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Communicate project status to management.
- Build payback models and assist in writing capital requests.
- Use existing Marmon automation implementation process to guide your workflow.
- Update and improve Marmon processes as you learn.
- Attend trade shows and vendor visits to become a rounded industry expert on current state of the art technologies and implementation strategies.
- Hands-on prototyping of technologies in the Marmon automation lab as project requires.
What You Bring
Preferred degree areas:
- Mechanical engineering
- Industrial engineering
- Automation engineering
- Project management / Operations
- Prior work experience in operations project management, automation project management, or similar areas including intern or co-op assignments desirable.
- Comfortable in ambiguous situations where requirements may be unclear.
- Comfortable in factory environments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of LEAN principles.
- 20-30% travel, domestic.
- Communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
