Job Description

We’re looking for an Automation Engineer to support high-impact manufacturing projects focused on improving uptime, modernizing controls systems, and driving production efficiency. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be working directly with equipment, not stuck behind a desk.

You’ll step into an environment where your work immediately impacts production performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems (Allen-Bradley / Siemens)
  • Support commissioning, startup, and integration of new equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve controls and automation issues on production lines
  • Work cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams
  • Lead or support upgrades from legacy systems to modern PLC-based controls
  • Improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on automation/controls experience in manufacturing
  • Strong PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens)
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (Ignition is a plus)
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and controls systems in real time
  • Experience with commissioning and project-based work preferred
  • Comfortable being on the floor and owning problems start to finish

Why This Role

  • Immediate impact – your work directly improves production uptime
  • Project-driven – not just maintenance, real engineering work
  • Growth opportunity – potential for long-term or full-time conversion
  • Flexible structure – we value output, not micromanagement

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly or salary (based on experience)
  • Overtime available
  • Travel (if applicable) compensated

What Success Looks Like

  • Reduced downtime on key production lines
  • Successful startup/commissioning of new or upgraded systems
  • Clear documentation and sustainable improvements to controls systems

If you’re someone who likes solving real problems, working on meaningful projects, and seeing the impact of your work immediately—this is the role.
