Randstad has an Automotive Manager role for a Global, Tier 1 Supplier. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team committed to excellence and will play a vital role in shaping their supply chain strategy. As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for supplier management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and cost optimization, ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services critical to our manufacturing operations. You will also oversee a team of 6-8 individuals. We seek an individual with a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, extensive experience in automotive procurement, and proven negotiation skills. Responsibilities
  • Reporting to senior management, this role will serve as a key purchasing and planning role to support service, cost, and budget.
  • Oversee key metrics (Backlog, Open Orders, Customer KPI/Certifications, etc.) and serve as escalation point for both internal and external stake holders.
  • Oversee and support purchasing/planning through key metrics (Inventory, Availability, Logistics Cost, etc.) while also owning S&OP, Forecasting, and Demand planning activities.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Quality, and Leadership team to find solutions and continuously improve processes and results.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in service to customers proactively through analysis of future availability forecasting, airfreight/drop-ship resolutions, and proper root cause/corrective action.
  • Guide, instruct, and manage direct reports through daily tasks, employee development, and periodic employee reviews.
  • Establish and maintain transparent communication with different production plants to ensure timely resolution of any bottlenecks.
  • Establish regular communication with customer material planners to understand demand fluctuations and planning profiles.
  • 5+ Automotive OEM or an Automotive Tier 1 experience.
  • Experience with SAP is REQUIRED, specific experience within planning (purchase orders and demand planning preferred).
  • Previous experience with leading purchasing/planning teams, customer service teams, or both.
  • Previous experience within purchasing/planning required.
