Compensation:

  • 1st Shift: $20.00/hour (6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
  • 2nd Shift: $20.00/hour + $0.75 shift premium = $20.75/hour (1:45 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
    Note: 2nd shift team members may split time between two departments.

Shift Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 1:45 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Weekends & Overtime: Required as needed

Position Summary:

We’re hiring a hands-on Automotive Team Leader to oversee production team operations in a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive facility. This is a “working leader” role where you will participate in daily production while guiding the team, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity goals are consistently met. You will report to a supervisor or department manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workstation & Safety Compliance:
    Monitor and ensure all work areas meet 5S, TPM, and safety standards. Drive improvements in workstation conditions and follow company quality guidelines.
  • Training & Documentation:
    Verify that team members follow approved methods and procedures. Collaborate with HR to ensure proper training is completed and documented.
  • Production & Inventory Control:
    Oversee scanning of work orders in Oracle Production System for accurate reporting and inventory tracking. Complete and submit rework tickets as needed.
  • Lead by Example:
    Maintain a strong work ethic and hands-on approach. Promote safety, quality, and productivity through daily actions and decision-making.
  • Team Support & Communication:
    Act as an active production team member when necessary. Maintain First5 boards and lead team huddles in the supervisor's absence.
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement:
    Support and implement lean manufacturing practices, including 1+5S, TPM, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Production Sign-off:
    Verify all department production is complete and ready for the next stage before transfer.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Leadership Experience:
    Minimum of 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Forklift Experience:
    Experience operating a sit-down propane forklift is required (certification preferred, or willingness to obtain).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Familiarity with Oracle or similar production/inventory systems
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles: 1+5S, TPM, VSM
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
    • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to stay productive in fast-paced settings
    • Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards across the board

Work Environment Requirements:

  • Willingness to work either 1st or 2nd shift, including weekends and overtime
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
