JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties

  • Identifies improperly functioning parts for repair or replacement using on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment and determines whether parts should be cleaned or replaced.
  • Installs, adjusts and sets automotive systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and tests the completed product.
  • Uses knowledge of the various techniques for removing, replacing, cleaning and installing parts and components and skill to make adjustments and settings and in the operation of tools and equipment used.
  • Understands diagnostic and test equipment; the make-up and operation of systems and their interrelationship.
  • Decides on the methods and techniques to use.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts.
    A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.
    5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400.
    A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
