Job Purpose
The incumbent must have the ability to handle maintenance by performing work such as operating,
repairing/rebuilding, maintaining, troubleshooting, and adjusting various type of machinery, equipment,
and physical structures and related systems of the plant under moderate supervision. Basic design and
fabrication skills are also required. Must have required tools on the job and be skilled in several trades,
including all shop equipment, as well as maintain records and reports as required. The incumbent shall
exercise good judgement in regard to quality, safety, and the security of the plant facilities, as well as
maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment. Must have good interpersonal skills and effective
communication skills, both orally and written. As a maintenance employee, the incumbent will be
required to work in all areas of the facility, indoors & outdoors, under adverse conditions. The
environment ranges from below 0 F to above 100 F, wet humid, confined space, and unique situations.
In addition, the incumbent must be able to lift 50 pounds, be agile for confined space work and be able
to climb ladders.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Maintain all equipment and systems in the assigned area of responsibility to maximize
uptime.
Work with production to ensure all quality standards are met.
Work with production to ensure expected production volumes are met.
Ensure a safe, sanitary work environment at all times.
Minimize/eliminate wasteful uses of energy/utilities.
Plan work assignments.
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
All Maintenance Technician III requirements. Follow Safety Guidelines in accordance with
Safe Practices and Job Safety Analysis. Participates in the Work Safe Process.
Responsible for adhering to FSQ guidelines, and supporting the overall QRMP process.
ELECTRICAL/TECHNICAL SKILL BASE REQUIREMENTS:
Fully understand the plant electrical distributions system and be able to troubleshoot
accordingly.
Have working knowledge of all PLC systems and be able to troubleshoot accordingly.
Ability to make program changes to PLC systems.
Identify and implement P.M. procedures for plant electrical distribution system – all
components.
All electrical / technical skill base requirements of Maintenance Technician III.
All mechanical skill base requirements of Maintenance Technician III.
MECHANICAL SKILL BASE REQUIREMENTS:

Perform moderate fabrication and machining.
Perform moderate welding.
Perform equipment re-builds.
Thorough understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Thorough understanding of mechanical systems.
Basic understanding of refrigeration systems.
All mechanical skill base requirements of Maintenance Technician III
All electrical / technical skill base requirements of Maintenance Technician III.
Expected Experience & Required Skills
TQM philosophy
Performing daily inspections of all assigned equipment and systems
Performing preventative maintenance procedures on all assigned equipment and systems
Completion of assigned work orders
Performing and completing safety inspections
Performing and completing sanitation inspections
Monitoring of all utilities
Elimination of all foreign material sources
Elimination of all stagnant product/product loss
Regular and accurate record keeping
Proficient use of the MP2 (PM) system
Communication with maintenance supervisor
Communication and cooperation with this and all other departments
Determination and ordering of necessary spare parts (MRO system)
Initiation of cost / quality improvements on a regular basis
Completion of any other tasks assigned by Management
Work Environment & Schedule
This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment
Additionally this role requires you to work 40+ hours a week with overtime if needed.
