LPL Financial is seeking a Vice President, Data Services - Principal Data Engineer to lead our Reference Data Master team within the Data & Analytics organization. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader with deep expertise in party reference data management, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise data engineering. You will be responsible for driving the strategy, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality party data solutions that support critical business functions including client onboarding, KYC/AML, regulatory reporting, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Party Referenced Data team, providing strategic direction, technical leadership, and mentorship while architecting and implementing cloud-native platforms using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, S3, RDS, and MSK. Drive modernization by migrating legacy systems to scalable cloud solutions, integrating third-party data providers like S&P Global's Markit and Dun & Bradstreet for accurate KYC/AML data ingestion and enrichment. Design and maintain robust data models for clients, counterparties, issuers, and legal entities, establishing governance frameworks for validation, deduplication, survivorship, and lineage tracking. Develop APIs and data services for CRM, trading, compliance, and reporting platforms, ensuring observability, resilience, and compliance with privacy and cybersecurity standards. Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate technical concepts into actionable solutions, champion continuous improvement through emerging technologies, and lead Agile delivery processes using Jira. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, managing technical teams and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions. Experience with data mastering, identity resolution, golden record creation for party data, and data mastering (MDM experience). Experience in building and modernizing cloud-native platforms for party/entity data. Core Competencies: Strategic thinking with a strong technical foundation. Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams. Deep understanding of party data ecosystems and regulatory requirements (e.g., KYC, AML, FATCA). Passion for building scalable, secure, and high-quality data platforms. Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leadership. Preferences: Expertise in AWS services, including Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, S3, RDS (Aurora/Postgres), and MSK/Kinesis. Proficiency with relational and cloud-native databases, such as Snowflake, Aurora, Postgres, and MSSQL. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and DevOps practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business teams. AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus. Pay Range: $132,458.00 - $220,729.00 Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
