Job Title: AWS Cloud Solutions Architect

Location: NY, Broadway (Hybrid)

• Strong proficiency with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
• Design cloud architectures, standards, and governance for AWS while supporting Azure architecture initiatives as required
• Expertise managing multi-account AWS Organizations and multi-subscription Azure Tenants
• Experience with AWS CloudShell and Azure Cloud Shell using PowerShell or CLI
• Ability to augment existing teams with cloud platform expertise
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud interoperability and on-premises to cloud integrations

Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & Design

• Develop scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures aligned with organizational goals and cybersecurity policies.
• Evaluate applications for cloud readiness and suitability for migration.
• Develop cloud migration strategies and roadmaps.
• Produce architectural documentation, Microsoft Visio diagrams, governance models, technical standards, and implementation playbooks.

Cloud Platform Expertise

• Strong understanding of AWS Compute services including EC2, Auto Scaling, and Batch.
• Strong understanding of AWS Storage services including S3, EBS, Batch Operations, Storage Tiers, Intelligent Tiering, and Lifecycle Policies.
• Experience with AWS analytics services including Glue, Lake Formation, RedShift, and Athena.
• Experience with AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with AWS serverless services including Fargate and Lambda.
• Strong understanding of Azure Compute services including Virtual Machines, Scale Sets, and Batch.
• Experience with Azure Storage including Storage Accounts, Blobs, Files, Tables, Queues, and Data Lake.
• Experience with Azure analytics platforms including Fabric, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and Event Hubs.
• Experience with Azure database services including Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, Hyperscale, and Cosmos DB.
• Experience with Azure serverless services including Azure Functions, Web Apps, App Services, App Service Environment (ASE), and Logic Apps.
• Experience with containerization technologies including ECS, ECR, EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, OpenShift, and Batch.
• Implement disaster recovery (DR) and backup strategies aligned with regulatory compliance, including RTO and RPO.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

• Provision infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM, or Pulumi.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Automate configuration management using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Security & Compliance

• Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, RBAC, WAF, Security Groups, NACLs, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Secrets Manager, NSGs, ASGs, Service Principals, Managed Identities, Azure Advisor, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, encryption, and monitoring.
• Apply zero-trust architecture principles and cloud security frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001.
• Utilize SIEM tools such as Splunk and Chronicle Security for monitoring and security analysis.

Performance Optimization & Cost Management

• Optimize cloud environments using AWS Cost Explorer, Cost & Usage Reports, Savings Plans, Azure Advisor, Cost and Billing Management, Reservations, and FinOps practices.
• Monitor performance and availability using CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Azure Resource Health, and SolarWinds.
• Implement auto-scaling, caching, and load balancing strategies.

Networking & Cloud Connectivity

• Design and manage VPCs, Azure VNets, Hub-and-Spoke architectures, Transit Gateway, Peering, Application Load Balancers, Azure Application Gateway, Network Load Balancers, Traffic Manager, VPNs, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and hybrid networking.
• Configure and optimize CDN solutions including CloudFront, Global Accelerator, Azure Front Door, Cloudflare, and Akamai.

Troubleshooting & Support

• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and cloud service issues.
• Perform root cause analysis using CloudWatch, Network Monitor, VPC Flow Logs, Azure Monitor, and Azure Network Watcher.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with Network, Server, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Finance, and Procurement teams.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Participate in technical discussions, cloud strategy planning, architecture reviews, and technology decision-making processes.
