Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (MX) to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL database management, with a focus on maximizing performance, ensuring data integrity, and implementing best practices. The role will primarily involve working with SQL Server databases in a mixed (MX) environment, requiring a deep understanding of database architecture, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases in a mixed (MX) environment.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement efficient database schemas and queries.

Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Ensure databases comply with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary enhancements.

Backup and Recovery:
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform regular database backups and test recovery procedures to minimize downtime.

Troubleshooting and Optimization:
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Optimize queries and database performance to enhance overall system efficiency.

Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Keep documentation up-to-date with changes and improvements.

Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator, specifically in a mixed (MX) environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server database management and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations and industry compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) is a plus.
