Job Description:
We are actively seeking a Senior Azure Health Data Services (AHDS) Engineer for a high-impact 3 to 6-month consulting engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience building secure, scalable health data platforms using Azure services and integrating with SMART on FHIR applications.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and configure Azure Health Data Services (AHDS) environments
• Migrate existing datasets and FHIR APIs to new Azure infrastructure
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC), security protocols, and ingestion pipelines
• Enhance SMART on FHIR apps for improved usability and compliance
• Integrate OAuth2/OIDC authorization workflows
• Align app registration and token scopes with CMS interoperability requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in cloud and health data engineering roles
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
  • Azure API for FHIR, AHDS, Azure Functions, Event Hubs
  • ARM/Bicep templates or Terraform
  • Azure Monitor, Key Vault, and RBAC
• Knowledge of:
  • CMS Patient Access APIs
  • HL7 Da Vinci implementation guides
  • EDI 278 transactions
  • CMS Interoperability & Prior Authorization rules
  • API standards and payer system integrations
