Job Description
In this role, you will play a crucial part in automating and optimizing our infrastructure, particularly within Microsoft Azure and Active Directory environments. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our security posture, streamlining operations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards like HIPAA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation and Scripting: Design, develop, and implement robust automation scripts using PowerShell or Terraform to streamline tasks and reduce manual effort.
- Azure Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize Azure cloud services and infrastructure components, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
- Active Directory Security and Automation: Standardize and automate security controls within Active Directory environments, such as user provisioning, password policies, and access controls.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC practices to ensure consistent and reproducible environments, reducing the risk of configuration drift and human error.
- Collaboration and Best Practices: Collaborate with IT team members to design, implement, and document best practices for system management and operations.
- Project Management: Independently lead projects from inception to completion, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, continuously improving our systems and processes to enhance efficiency and security.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in automating tasks and workflows in an Azure environment.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting or Terraform.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, including user management, group policies, and security best practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and common tools like Terraform or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions with a focus on improving system reliability and efficiency.
Additional Considerations:
- Automation Language: While PowerShell is preferred, flexibility is considered for other automation languages like Bash and Python.
- Project Focus: The primary focus of this role is to automate and streamline various IT tasks, including:
- Access control with Microsoft Entra and Active Directory
- Software updates and auditing
- Remediation of security vulnerabilities
- Implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Security scoping and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
