Internship Overview:

Our internship program is designed to invest in the future generation of talent. This eleven-week program is centered around the principles of continuous learning, financial stewardship, building relationships, and community involvement, striving to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our interns and the communities we serve.

Position Summary

The Banking Intern will be able to grow personally and professionally through real-life work experiences and mentoring relationships. This position will support operational and customer service functions at First Southern National Bank in Russellville, KY. The intern will perform a variety of projects and tasks, gaining exposure to all aspects of bank operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the products and services offered by First Southern.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing transactions and assisting customers.
  • Shadow experienced professionals to understand relationship management practices.
  • Attend various loan committee meetings to get total exposure to bank lending.
  • Observe and support prospecting and business development efforts.
  • Work on special projects aimed at enhancing deposit and lending operations efficiency.
  • Learn about compliance and regulatory requirements within the banking industry.
  • Represent First Southern both in conduct and appearance in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Experience training and development from various team members in all bank departments.
  • Build relationships both internally and externally through community outreach and events.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in business, finance, economics, or another related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in relationship building.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
