A school district in Norwalk, CT, is seeking a skilled Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with experience in school settings to provide specialized support for an elementary student during the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract position runs from ASAP through June 2026, offering 37.5 hours per week of meaningful work within a supportive educational environment.
The student receiving services has behaviors including running and moderate aggression, requiring a professional with expertise in behavioral interventions and safety protocols. The role involves working closely with the student and collaborating with school staff to implement effective behavior support plans.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with valid credentials
- Prior school-based experience working with children exhibiting challenging behaviors
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies and behavior intervention techniques
- Ability to maintain safety and manage moderate aggression effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, specialists, and family
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing behavior intervention plans tailored to the student's needs
- Monitoring and documenting behavior and progress regularly
