Looking for an internship program where you'll make a real difference rather than just completing busy work? Then you've come to the right place. The Cigna Groups Summer Internship Program is designed to assign you projects that have a lasting impact on our business which touches millions of people across the globe.

As an intern, you'll get an inside look at your desired field, while working next to some of the best in the industry. Program activities, including an executive speaker series, volunteer events, and career development workshops, give you the opportunity to network with employees across the organization and prepare you for a full-time career.

Where Youll Work

This internship will be working with the Department of Defense (DOD) Account Team within our Military and Veterans Division. The intern will focus on projects including customer research and analysis, the development of procedural and quality content for various programs and will work with the beneficiary and provider experience teams. This team manages documentation and resources that will be used to enhance the overall experience for beneficiaries and providers. The intern will support departmental tasks and will support the elevation of digital platforms and marketing campaigns to grow the business and raise brand awareness. During the summer internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within your division and across the business while learning from some of our brightest and most innovative employees in your area of focus.

What Youll Do
  • Gain valuable knowledge on top health industry trends and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support and refine and develop communication strategies.
  • Review content and present recommendations to leadership and program owners.
  • Social media and marketing support for Beneficiary and Provider Experience materials and programs
  • Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ideal candidate will be a rising junior or senior working towards a bachelors degree.
  • Preferred majors include Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills.
Additional Information
  • Location: This in an in-office internship. Applicants should be prepared to be aligned to the St. Louis office located at 4600 North Hanley, St. Louis, MO 63134.
  • Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with The Cigna Group post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Schedule: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for 10 consecutive weeks beginning May 20, 2024. Working hours are Monday Friday.
  • Compensation: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate between $21.00 and $23.00 an hour depending on relevant factors, including major and year of study.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
