Job Description
Imperial is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our team. This role emphasizes insurance management, census reporting, workers' compensation handling, and community involvement and engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Bourbon, Missouri
Travel: 5%
What You’ll Be Doing
- Health and Welfare Benefits
- Administer employee health, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- Set up and manage open enrollment and benefits communication, including Health Assessments.
- Assist employees with insurance claims and inquiries.
- Prepare and submit accurate census reports for benefits administration.
- Collaborate with benefits providers to ensure accurate reporting.
- Administer 1095’s
- Workers Compensation and Safety
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure timely processing.
- Conduct investigations and maintain records of workplace incidents.
- Set up and maintain relationships with medical providers and insurance carriers.
- Work with Safety to develop and implement safety programs to reduce workplace injuries.
- FMLA and LOA Administration
- Effectively and compliantly manage FMLA and leaves of absence.
- Reporting and Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and demographic data.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and company policies.
- Maintain daily and weekly census.
- Represent the company at community events and activities.
- Support HR team with cultural events and blood drives

What We Need
- 2+ Years within an HR or Benefits Administration position (manufacturing experience a plus!)
- Experience with UKG Benefits Administration, UKG HRIS and related administration software
- Experience in Workers Compensation within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Benefits Administration specifically self-insured plans.
- Knowledgeable and comfortable creating new processes and procedures where none existed prior.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
