Overview The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering employee benefits programs and coordinating the company’s leave of absence, disability, workplace accommodation, and worker’s compensation programs. This is a fully remote position that offers a competitive pay range of $28.00 to $33.00 per hour, plus an annual bonus. You'll also receive our excellent benefits package, which includes medical coverage starting on day one and a company-matched 401(k). Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors. Responsibilities Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, and related offerings. Support annual open enrollment, including employee communications, enrollment processing, and vendor/system coordination. Deliver new-hire benefits orientation and provide ongoing education on benefit offerings and related policies. Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits inquiries; resolve issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and elevate complex matters as needed. Maintain and manage benefits documentation and records, including SPDs, benefit summaries, insurance certificates, and other plan materials. Maintain benefits content on the company intranet, including plan documents, guides, flyers, and corporate discount information. Coordinate wellness initiatives (e.g., health fairs, biometric screenings, immunization events). Support the tracking and administration of employee discount programs, ensuring accuracy and coordinating vendor renewals. Monitor benefits-related legislation, compliance requirements, and industry best practices; recommend and implement process improvements as appropriate. Coordinate employee leave programs (FMLA, ADA, parental, medical, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves), ensuring a consistent employee experience. Partner with Payroll, HR Business Partners, managers, and third‑party administrators to support leave processing, benefits continuation, pay coordination, and timely reporting/claims administration. Maintain confidentiality of employee health information and ensure HIPAA compliance. Track leave hours, documentation, and certification deadlines to support compliance and accurate record‑keeping. Facilitate the workers’ compensation process, as applicable. Partner with the Benefits & Leave Manager, SVP HR, and Operations to coordinate ergonomic equipment requests. Perform additional projects and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration with a solid background in leave management. Thorough understanding of FMLA, ADA, and other leave‑related compliance requirements. Experience with HRIS and benefits management systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time‑management abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Customer service orientation and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels. Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
