Bentley Asset Performance Management Apm Apply
Interview process: 1 video then an onsite interview
Description:
We are seeking a senior Bentley Asset Performance Management (APM) subject matter expert to provide technical leadership for its enterprise APM platform supporting Electric Operations. This contractor will own hands-on configuration and extension of Bentley APM, design and implement new asset reliability use cases, and lead platform release upgrades, production troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The role partners closely with IT and field operations to translate asset and maintenance requirements into APM data models, rules engines, health and risk frameworks, workflows, dashboards, and reporting solutions that directly drive work management and reliability outcomes. In addition to platform delivery, this consultant will build long-term internal capability by developing and delivering structured training, workshops, documentation, and real-world coaching to upskill PG&E's APM administrators, analysts, and support teams. Utility-grade APM expertise, electric asset knowledge, and strong configuration, upgrade, and troubleshooting experience are essential; SAP and integration/data-flow experience are strong pluses.
We're seeking a Bentley APM contractor/consultant with deep platform expertise to help configure and extend our Bentley APM solution, support release upgrades, and build internal capability through hands-on training and upskilling.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on configuration in Bentley APM (data model/config, rules/logic, workflows, health/risk frameworks, dashboards/reports as applicable).
- Design and implement new Bentley APM solutions/use cases aligned to Electric Operations asset and maintenance processes.
- Lead and support upgrade activities to new Bentley APM releases, including impact assessments, configuration changes, regression testing support, and cutover/go-live support.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend performance/stability improvements.
- Partner with internal IT and operations stakeholders to translate requirements into Bentley APM configurations and technical designs.
- Create documentation (configuration guides, runbooks, upgrade notes, admin SOPs).
Required qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bentley APM SME with multiple implementations and/or significant production support experience.
- Strong technical depth: configuration, troubleshooting, environment support, and release upgrade experience.
- Experience working in a utility environment (electric preferred) and familiarity with asset and maintenance processes.
Training and upskilling responsibilities
- Develop and deliver structured training for internal staff (admin, analysts, support engineers, and key power users).
- Run hands-on workshops: configuration, troubleshooting, upgrade readiness, and best practices.
- Create reusable training materials: slide decks, exercises, checklists, and "how-to" guides.
- Coach internal team during real work (pairing sessions) so knowledge transfers beyond classroom training.
Preferred
- SAP exposure (integration touchpoints, work management concepts).
- Experience with integrations and data flows (APIs/ETL, data warehouse/lake, reporting tools) in an APM context.
Predict equipment failures
Optimize maintenance strategies
Reduce outages and safety incidents
Extend asset life
Support regulatory compliance (very important for PG&E)
It sits in the same strategic tier as SAP PM, Maximo, and ServiceNow EAM - but Bentley is deeply focused on predictive reliability engineering and risk modeling.
So a "Bentley APM Contractor" Is
A specialized reliability / asset engineering / systems integration professional hired to implement, configure, and operate Bentley's APM platform for a utility or industrial enterprise.
These people are NOT generic "IT contractors."
They are mission-critical reliability engineers + systems architects.
