Customer Service Specialists work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the right solutions. They are expected to promptly resolve any customer concerns, maintain high quality visual standards, and consistently meet the store’s sales goals. Location: Store #705681, 1440 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10302 Background and safety: The role requires a review of criminal history to protect customers, staff, vendors, contractors and the public. It may involve contact with minors, cash, electronic equipment and store merchandise. Responsibilities Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service. Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services. Build productive trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers. Process sales transactions accurately in accordance with policies and procedures. Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals. Maintain precise work order files and formulas. Retrieve products from the sales floor or warehouse. Tint and mix products to customer specifications. Stock shelves, set up displays, and keep store equipment clean. Load/unload delivery trucks and assist in deliveries as needed. Maintain an in‑stock and presentable condition of assigned areas. Stay knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options. Comply with inventory control procedures. Suggest ways to improve sales. Minimum Requirements At least eighteen (18) years of age. Legally authorized to work in the country without needing visa sponsorship. Proficient in reading, writing, comprehending and communicating in English. Proficient in reading, writing, comprehending and communicating in Spanish. Valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion. Willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation. If internal to Sherwin‑Williams, a “meets expectations” rating on the most recent performance appraisal. If internal to Sherwin‑Williams, completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail or customer service position. Previous experience selling paint and paint-related products.
