About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Indio, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Indio, CA
• Schedule: 25 hours, 2 sessions a week for 3 hours
• Pay range is between $25-$35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, and/or Intellectual Disabilities.
• Strong background in differentiated instruction for reading, writing, and foundational math.
• Skilled in implementing scaffolded supports, visual aids, and hands-on learning strategies.
• Ability to model and teach social-emotional skills such as self-advocacy, frustration management, and perseverance.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
• Preferred: Background in Special Education or related field (e.g., paraprofessional, behavioural therapist, or SPED teacher).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction in reading comprehension, writing organization, and foundational math (including multiplication and division).
• Implement scaffolded lessons using tools such as sentence starters, graphic organizers, and visual supports.
• Reinforce comprehension strategies (e.g., identifying main ideas, making inferences, understanding vocabulary in context).
• Support social-emotional growth through consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and encouragement.
• Break down challenging tasks into manageable steps, incorporating frequent breaks and motivational supports.
• Utilize student interests, such as sports and outdoor activities, to increase engagement and learning relevance.
• Collaborate with caregivers and educational staff to align instruction with the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
