About the Role:
We are looking for a Bioproduction Research Associate to join our product development team. The successful candidate will assist in the production of microbial active ingredients used in agriculture. The Bioproduction Research Associate will work closely with global team to execute fermentation processes and evaluate product characteristics to ensure high-quality performance. Although this role is based in South Portland, Maine, there may be circumstances that require travel to St. Paul, Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and execution of fermentation experiments.
- Monitor the growth of microbial strains, collecting and analyzing data to track performance and yield.
- Perform Quality Assurance measures on commercial product.
- Document results meticulously and prepare technical reports on findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product formulations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving during production experiments.
- Assist in overseeing onsite strain library.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience with fungal fermentation techniques
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and statistical analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with the team.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Attention to detail with a methodical approach to experimentation and documentation.
- Strong familiarity with bioprocessing equipment and processes.
- Adherence to company policies, procedures, guidelines, and laboratory safety practices.
- Ability to foster and prioritize a professional and positive work atmosphere.
