Role: Tissue Processing Technician I/Biotechnical Manufacturing Technician
Location: Columbia, MD
Duration: 6 Months
Job Summary:
The job involves following guidelines to process porcine urinary bladders in a biotechnical facility, from raw material collection to final product packaging. After training, the employee is expected to work independently, following Standard Operating Procedures. This role is the entry level for the Tissue Processing Technician job group.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Collect and clean raw materials
- Remove unwanted tissues and disinfect
- Prepare solutions and document materials
- Process raw materials for the final product
- Conduct inspections during processing
- Assemble, package, and label devices
- Cross-train for different tasks
- Propose improvements
- Monitor and report low supplies
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of GMP and ISO standards
Tools And Equipment Used:
- Operation of specialty equipment (ex: lyophilizer, condenser, die press, etc.)
Adverse Working Conditions:
- Work in a general plant environment
- Handle raw materials (porcine bladder)
- Clean room environment, gowning and de-gowning required
- Possible exposure to strong cleaning material odors
