We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team in Nottingham, Maryland. In this Contract to permanent position, you will manage financial records, assist in tax preparation, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in bookkeeping and accounting software while delivering exceptional service to clients.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual, business, and corporate tax returns with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

• Manage bookkeeping tasks, such as data entry, account reconciliations, and generating financial statements using software.

• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

• Provide clear explanations of tax strategies and financial concepts to clients, ensuring they understand their financial options.

• Promote additional financial services that align with clients' needs and goals.

• Stay informed about current tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.

• Support marketing and outreach initiatives to attract new clients and strengthen community engagement.

• Deliver outstanding customer service that fosters strong and trusting relationships with clients.

• Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or corporate accounting, with a solid understanding of tax regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate complex financial data.

• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices, including account reconciliation and ledger management.

• Effective communication skills for attentive client interactions and customer service.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in financial sales or marketing is a plus but not mandatory.
